Use of facilities do not work with current disability social benefits: Fabrikken is one of the largest accumulations of studio spaces in Copenhagen and has very well stocked facilities, on top of this having your practices based in proximity to other artists is a great chance for networking an important community building. Because of the restrictions coming from my disability social benefits I cannot afford studio space as my social benefits and the costs of having a disability do not make this a possibility. I also would not be able to apply to a residency as this would jeopardize possibly leave me in a position to lose my right to disability social benefits.
Distance further than I could use on a daily basis: I am currently only able to operate my practice from my own home, as I cannot use any space outside of my home on a daily basis, I am blocked off from great studio opportunities like this and the chance to create works that I cannot inside my small apartment.
